Searching for Recording Collaborators

My name is Erik Brown and I am the founder and current president of UNLV Audio Engineering Club. On my time off, I record and produce rock/pop based music and am always looking for collaborators. In specific, I am looking for people who play any instrument, mostly Guitars and Keyboards, Drums and Bass but also brass and various strings to help me finish songs. A basic overview of the way I create music is I use Ableton Live, start off with a MIDI Drum backing and slowly layer over the parts one by one. I'll often copy and paste measures or phrases using Ableton's layout. I try to get it to sound as real and organic as possible, even though the music is multi-tracked. I'm a big fan of effects, however, and desire the music to take the listener to a place they've never been before. I view music as escapism, and just like a fantasy novel or movie, I enjoy music that sounds like nothing I've really heard before, yet sounds very human. I love unconventional production and mixing styles, and believe that rules are meant to broken! I'm a big fan of harmony and dynamic range, very underutilized in pop music. I hope to change that. As you can see, I'm very into neopsychedelia and indie rock music. But for me, the genre is less important than what the music does as an art piece. I hope to make recordings that create their own little universe, unique in their own way, and suck the listener in to take them on that journey.
